All classes begin with several unique base skill trees which need to be learned and gained through use of the previous skill and the addition of new stat points to the character as they level up. In addition to these base skill trees, each class has its own Master and Transformation Skills which can be obtained at 90 (Master Skill Quest) and later at 160 (Transformation Skill Quest). These skills have much more power and provide other benefits for the class as they level up. These skills need to be learned from books which can either be bought or obtained from quests and monster drops. Each level of the Master and Transformation skills must be learned before the next level can be. Therefore, you must obtain and learn Guardian Protection level 1 before learning level 2, regardless of if you already have the level 2 book.
